Chicago Bulls and NBA legend Michael Jordan’s return to NBC as a media figure has ignited a wave of speculation, and it may have implications far beyond basketball. The six-time NBA champion and five-time MVP is officially joining NBC Sports as a “special contributor” for its upcoming NBA coverage.

Jordan starred for the Chicago Bulls throughout the 1990s, when NBC aired NBA games. NBC was the home of the NBA Finals from 1991 to 2002, with Jordan's Bulls winning six titles over that span.

Basketball Hall of Famer Vince Carter will join NBC Sports as a studio analyst when the NBA debuts on Peacock in October for the 2025-26 season.
