It has crossed the $300 million mark at the global box office, and is nearing $200 million at the domestic market. The total collection of the superhero film stands at $177.7 million in the US market.

Within its second weekend in theatres, James Gunn's Superman has risen past all odds and collected over $300 million worldwide. The earnings saw a drastic rise even on midweeks and minted $177.7 million in the US.

Superman hit the big screen on July 11 with all the power of a Kryptonian smashing through a Metropolis high-rise. The film is a reboot from director James Gunn, who directed the Guardians of the Galaxy series.
