Pelletier was a recent graduate of Fuquay-Varina High School in Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina, WTVD reported. Pelletier was last seen on August 1 while on a family vacation in Englewood, Florida, before leaving around 1:30 a.m. to travel with his cousins toward Brevard County to visit more family, according to the CCSO.

A body found near a retention pond is confirmed to be that of a teenager who went missing last week while visiting family.

Giovanni Pelletier, a teen who went missing in Florida earlier this month, has been confirmed dead. His family confirmed his death to ABC 11 on Saturday, Aug. 9, one day after a decomposing body was discovered near the area where the teenager was last seen.
