The Green Bay Packers made franchise history with the 23rd selection of the 2025 NFL Draft, using a first-round pick on a wide receiver for the first time in over 20 years. Former Texas wideout Matthew Golden turned heads at the NFL Combine with a 4.29-second 40-yard dash time, adding some speed to the Packers’ receiving corps.

While the Green Bay Packers ultimately were far removed from the George Pickens trade, one Packers receiver now seems near-certain to be moved in a subsequent trade, wherever that may be.

The Pittsburgh Steelers may well be looking for a replacement for former star receiver, George Pickens, who was traded to the Cowboys on Wednesday. However, despite rumblings to the contrary, it seems like the Green Bay Packers will not be open for business.
