The Spanish Football Federation says midfielder Aitana Bonmatí has rejoined the Spain squad in Switzerland ahead of the team's opener in the Women’s European Championship on Thursday.

The Spanish soccer federation says midfielder Aitana Bonmatí has left the hospital and is expected to rejoin the Spain squad in the next few days to try to play in the Women’s European Championship.

Spain’s star player Aitana Bonmati is being treated in hospital for viral meningitis with less than a week to go before the start of Euro 2025.
