Veteran offensive guard Wes Schweitzer, who signed a one-year deal with the New England Patriots this offseason, has decided to retire from the NFL after eight seasons, being placed on the reserve/retired list on Tuesday according to an announcement from the team.
The Patriots placed veteran offensive lineman Wes Schweitzer on the reserve/retired list. This move effectively ends Schweitzer’s season. The 31-year-old did factor into the Patriots equation at guard and center – when present at OTAs. However, Schweitzer wasn’t at minicamp this week.
