An ESPN insider offered up a simple reason why LeBron James chose to accept his $52.6 million contract option with the Lakers.

When it comes to NBA rumors, and really sports rumors in general, particularly those involving LeBron James, it's gets a little tricky on social media when navigating through all the mud and the countless parody accounts "reporting" an abundance of fake news.

Lebron James’ agent, Rich Paul, might have caught the entire league off guard. On Sunday, Paul told ESPN’s Shams Charania that James is taking his $52.6 million player option with the Lakers. However, he and his agent made it clear that they expect the Lakers to build a competitive roster, or he might look elsewhere.
