Set in 2120, it hinges on a batch of alien and various mutating specimens who crash-land on Earth in a research vessel that’s owned by one of five corporations that now rule during this Corporate Era — a chillingly plausible schematic.

Earth” streaming now, this fresh chapter in the franchise grabbed me from the start and secured its place as one of my favorite shows ever.

Alien: Earth was created by Fargo's Noah Hawley and boasts a talented cast, including Sydney Chandler (who plays Wendy), Alex Lawther (who plays Wendy's brother, Hermit), Timothy Olyphant (who plays Kirsh), Samuel Blenkin (who plays Boy Kavalier) and Babou Ceesay (who plays security officer Morrow).

Noah Hawley, creator of FX's "Fargo" and trippy X-Men series "Legion," fundamentally understands what makes the aliens of "Alien" scary, and what makes the world Scott created so enticing to return to for film after film.

The series by creator Noah Hawley is described as a spin-off to the original Ridley Scott-directed film, " Alien ," from 1979. The film follows a space crew aboard the starship, Nostromo, who are on their journey back home when they receive a distress call from an alien vessel.

It's also a proper work of Hawley's, a mish-mash of his Marvel masterpiece Legion and other prestige sci-fi of the last ten years, from Westworld to Severance. "Neverland" is a long, labored inhalation for what is a simple inciting incident.
