A complex of storms moving south from Oklahoma began impacting North Texas on Sunday morning, bringing showers and thunderstorms with a heightened risk of more severe weather anticipated later in the day.

The potential of strong to severe storms on Thursday has prompted a First Alert Weather Day Thursday evening into the overnight. Some storms could be severe with large hail and damaging winds, especially in our southwest areas.

The highest chance of severe storms will be for counties to the west and southwest of Fort Worth, the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office said.
