Well, Thursday night’s big swap with Calgary, which brought 28-year-old forward wing Andrei Kuzmenko to Philadelphia in exchange for forwards Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee (both in their mid-20s), just might be a change in that thinking.

The Calgary Flames traded wingers Andrei Kuzmenko and Jakob Pelletier, plus second- and seventh-round draft picks, to the Philadelphia Flyers on Thursday night for center Morgan Frost and winger Joel Farabee.

The Philadelphia Flyers announced they have acquired forwards Andrei Kuzmenko and Jakob Pelletier, as well as a second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft and seventh round pick in the 2028 NHL Draft from the Calgary Flames in exchange for forwards Joel Farabee and Morgan Frost, according to General Manager, Daniel Briere.

Andrei Kuzmenko was traded to the Philadelphia Flyers by the Calgary Flames for Morgan Frost and Joel Farabee on Thursday. The Flyers also acquired Jakob Pelletier, a second-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft and a seventh-round pick in the 2028 Draft.

Bobby Brink, Joel Farabee and Garnet Hathaway scored to help the Philadelphia Flyers build a three-goal lead and they held on to beat the New Jersey Devils 4-2.

The Philadelphia Flyers acquired left wings Andrei Kuzmenko and Jakob Pelletier – and two draft picks – in the trade.

The 28-year-old Kuzmenko was scratched from Calgary’s lineup Thursday night and 23-year-old Pelletier was pulled after the first period of a 4-1 victory over the Anaheim Ducks.

The new-look Calgary Flames will continue their push for a playoff berth when they host the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday.
