The 39th president’s funeral motorcade made several stops Saturday before finishing at the Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum in Atlanta

Jimmy Carter’s casket has traveled from Georgia to Washington for his state funeral, giving crowds of mourners a chance to pay their respects to the former president.

Following the state funeral in Washington, President Carter's remains will then be transported from the nation's capitol, back to Georgia, where a private ceremony will take place at Maranatha Baptist Church, the church in Plains where Carter taught Sunday school for years.
