After one year away from WWE, Kiana James is back from her knee injury, competing for the first time on "WWE Main Event" (with photos).

On WWE SmackDown, James was seen in the background of a backstage segment where Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair were speaking. James was holding her trademark briefcase. In April, James confirmed she suffered a leg injury and was in the middle of her rehab.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter (h/t WrestlePurists ), WWE's original plans called for the WWE Championship bout between John Cena and Cody Rhodes to be the main event of Night 2, potentially with the inclusion of a stipulation.

The veteran wrestling journalist addressed specific issues the WWE Hall of Famer raised after his retirement match on Saturday Night's Main Event.
