Manchester United has made a move for Brentford forward Bryan Mbeumo, a person familiar with the situation told the Associated Press on Thursday. The person spoke on the condition of confidentiality because United has not publicly declared its interest.

Mbeumo has only a year left on his contract which gives United some leverage as they look to prise away the 25-year-old, who scored 20 goals and made seven assists in the Premier

United remain in talks over a deal and it is hoped that Brentford will soften their stance. Mbeumo is entering the final year of his contract this summer but the Bees are protecte
