The Ranch Place Fire was first reported near the 3500 block of Ranch Place just after 4 p.m. Around 6:15 p.m., the fire prompted evacuation orders, which were reduced to warnings just before 9:30 p.m.

The fire sparked near Ranch Place and Cliff Drive, near Cataldi Park in San Jose, at 4:17 p.m., Cal Fire said. Evacuations were ordered in three areas near Sierra Road, according to evacuation maps .
