Steven Knight, the writer behind the BBC's mega-hit series Peaky Blinders, is reportedly set to write the next James Bond film. The movie has officially brought on board Blade Runner: 2049 and Sicario director Denis Villeneuve after he wraps production on Dune: Part 3.

Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight will write the script for the next James Bond film, Amazon MGM Studios has announced. It marks the latest step in a major overhaul of the iconic British spy franchise, following Barbara Broccoli and Michael G Wilson handing over creative control to Amazon as part of a lucrative deal.

While best known as the creator of the Bafta-winning BBC series (and its upcoming spin-off movie, which is expected to premiere on Netflix later this year), Steven is also known for his Charles Dickens adaptations A Christmas Carol and Great Expectations, as well as the recent Stephen Graham drama A Thousand Blows.
