As Bueckers and her Wings teammates prepare for their first game of the season, a recent report revealed the former UConn guard's involvement in a business venture off the court. According to Grant Afseth, Bueckers has agreed to a deal to become the first athlete Creative Director at DoorDash.
The No. 1 pick of the 2025 WNBA draft scored 15 points as the Wings claimed an 119-52 win over the Toyota Antelopes of the Women's Japan Basketball League. The crowd gave Bueckers a loud cheer as she took the court at College Park Center for her first WNBA action at home. Bueckers was visible early in the game as both a playmaker and scorer.
The city just west of Minneapolis declared May 16 as Paige Bueckers Day and will rename itself Paige Bueckers, Minn., this Friday to honor the rookie’s WNBA debut.
