Chicago Sky announced it will be the second WNBA team to retire Candace Parker's jersey, even though she played there for two years.
Candace Parker will have her jersey retired for a second time during the 2025 WNBA season. The Chicago Sky announced they'll hang Parker's No. 3 in the Wintrust Arena rafters on Aug. 25 when they host the Las Vegas Aces. That's a little less than two months after the Los Angeles Sparks will bestow the same honor on the two-time WNBA MVP.
Parker played two seasons for the Sky from 2021-22. An All-Star in both seasons, Parker helped lead the Sky to the franchise's only WNBA championship. In her two seasons in Chicago, Parker averaged 13.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 4.3 assists per game while shooting 45.8% from the field and 31.7% from 3-point distance.
Candace Parker will receive her second jersey retirement this year as both the Chicago Sky and Los Angeles Sparks honor her legendary career.

Parker described the honor as personal, sharing that as a kid growing up in Naperville, IL, she never imagined her hometown team would one day retire her jersey.
The Sky will have another opportunity to get into the win column on Thursday night. They will host Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings, who have a 1-4 record, at Wintrust Arena in Chicago. The game will tip off at 8:00 p.m. EST.
