After learning they have missed out on in-state four-star talent Braydon Hawthorne, the West Virginia Mountaineers can now turn their full attention back to the transfer portal to round out the roster for the 2025-26 season.
Huntington Prep standout Braydon Hawthorne has announced that he's heading to the Kentucky Wildcats for the 2025-26 college basketball season.
Former high school recruit and UK signee Acaden Lewis, a guard, decommitted from Kentucky this spring and will instead be playing next season at Villanova. During his first offseason press conference on May 13 — which came before Hawthorne committed to UK — Pope touched on the subject of potentially adding to next season’s Kentucky roster.
Pope will serve in a coaching capacity, while Johnson and Moreno will compete for a spot in the national team that will compete in the FIBA U10 World Cup in Switzerland. The roster will be finalized by June 21 and the World Cup is set for June 28-July 6.
