July 17 - Von Miller is set to join the Washington Commanders on a one-year deal as part of a rebuilt defensive front. A three-time All-Pro, Miller shared the news with a visual -- wearing a No. 24 Commanders uniform -- on social media, but the move was not official as of Thursday morning.
Per multiple reports — and as announced by the player himself on social media — Von Miller has agreed to terms with the Commanders. The second overall pick in the 2011 draft, Millers has played for the Broncos, Rams, and Bills.
The Washington Commanders made a significant pickup on Wednesday night, signing edge rusher Von Miller to a one-year deal. Miller was released earlier this offseason by the Buffalo Bills, with whom he spent the last three seasons after playing 9.
Former Washington Commanders head coach Jay Gruden recently spoke on the team's decision to add the veteran pass rusher Von Miller to the team for next year.
Can Miller provide pass rush help? Dante Fowler was the only Commanders player to top 10 sacks last season, but he has since signed with the Dallas Cowboys. Washington did, however, sign Deatrich Wise, Javon Kinlaw and Jacob Martin as free agents to bolster the defensive line. Miller will now join that group.
