Minnesota Twins ace Pablo López will miss at least the next two months, and perhaps closer to three, after suffering a grade 2 strain of the teres major muscle in his right shoulder, the club announced Wednesday night.

Minnesota Twins right-hander Pablo López is expected to be sidelined 8 to 12 weeks because of a strained shoulder.

After leaving Tuesday’s game early, magnetic resonance imaging taken on Wednesday in California confirmed a Grade 2 teres major strain. The Twins said in a release that they expect López to be out for approximately eight to 12 weeks and the earliest he would begin a throwing program would be in a month.
