Cambodia and Thailand will meet in Malaysia later Monday for peace talks after days of deadly clashes on their disputed border have sent civilians scrambling for safety and relations between the two neighbors cratering.

The leaders of Thailand and Cambodia were set to hold talks in Malaysia on Monday to reach a ceasefire in their deadly border dispute, with the United States saying its officials would be assisting in the peace process.

The talks, announced by a spokesperson for the Thai prime minister's office on Sunday, come after pressure from U.S. President Trump to reach a ceasefire.
