EUGENE — We were live from Jane Sanders Stadium for today‘s Eugene Regional final between No. 16 seed Oregon and Stanford. The Ducks won 10-7 on a walk-off home run by Dez Patmon and advance to host Liberty in the Eugene Super Regional next weekend.
Oregon fans packed Jane Sanders Stadium shoulder to shoulder, with little standing room available at the top of the bleachers. “Let’s Go Ducks” chants filled the crowd as the Ducks found themselves in a walk-off scenario for the second game in a row.
After an impressive win against a tough opponent in No. 16 Oregon, Stanford softball is one game closer to advancing.
Stanford was held to just two hits after Economides’ second home run as Oregon left-hander Staci Chambers relieved starter Lyndsey Greir and threw 4 1/3 scoreless innings. Elise Sokolsky recorded the final out in the top of the seventh inning.
Stanford softball's season ended in Eugene this past weekend, beating Binghamton but losing two of three to Oregon, including a dramatic walk‑off, ending its NCAA run.
Oregon needed to score early and often to put itself in a position to play at least one more game this season. With two runners on base, freshman Rylee McCoy hit a bomb over the left field wall. McCoy helped the Ducks keep their season alive with a five-run second inning.
