The Portland Thorns and the city's incoming WNBA franchise unveiled plans on Thursday to build a first-of-its kind two-sport performance center that will house both teams.

The project comes a little over one year after the Bhathal family, who are also investors in the NBA’s Sacramento Kings, completed its $ 63-million acquisition of the Thorns. In September, the family was a warded the WNBA’s 15th franchise, which has sold more than 8,000 season tickets before announcing its name.

The Bhathal family, which owns the Thorns and the new WNBA expansion team in Portland, plans to spend $150 million or more on a dual-team campus.
