Josh Hubbard withdraws from the NBA Draft, returning to Bulldogs for the 2025-26 season after a record-breaking sophomore year

Star Mississippi State guard Josh Hubbard is heading back to Starkville. Hubbard announced on May 21 that he’s removing his name from the NBA draft process and has his sights fully set on a big junior year with the Bulldogs.

“NEWS: Mississippi State guard Josh Hubbard is withdrawing from the NBA Draft and will return to Starkville next season, he told @On3sports,” Joe Tipton said in a post. “The 5-11 sophomore lead the SEC in scoring this year, averaging 18.9 PPG. Expected, but exciting news for Chris Jans.”

The Bulldogs end the regular season 9-1 since firing coach Chris Lemonis on April 28 and will play their first SEC tournament game on May 20. First baseman Hunter Hines hit his 68th career home run on May 16, passing Rafael Palmeiro for the most in program history.
