After more than a quarter century of thrills and fun, Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, D.C., will close at the end of this season.

Six Flags announced it's making cuts in its portfolio and closing a park and adjoining water rides. Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor in Bowie, Maryland, will welcome thrill seekers for the last time this year after the operator announced plans to close the amusement parks after the 2025 season.

The parent company of Six Flags America and Hurricane Harbor said they will close in November and the Bowie property will be marketed for redevelopment.
