Hassan Sentamu has been found GUILTY of murder after stabbing 15-year-old Elianne Andam to death in Croydon. The 18-year-old was convicted after jurors deliberated for 11 hours and 42 minutes following a four-week trial at the Old Bailey.

Eighteen-year-old Hassan Sentamu has been found guilty of murdering schoolgirl Elianne Andam in south London, in a row over her friend’s teddy bear.

The FINANCIAL — A teenager who stabbed Croydon schoolgirl Elianne Andam to death in a violent and unprovoked attack has been convicted of her murder. Hassan Sentamu, 18, was arrested by a Met officer within 90 minutes of the incident as he stepped off a bus after calmly making his way back home. He has remained in custody ever since.

Elianne Andam's father Michael Andam described his daughter as a "bright, kind and loving soul" with hopes and dreams for the future before she was "cruelly taken away".

Hassan Sentamu had admitted manslaughter but denied murder on the basis that his autism affected his self-control.
