The Atlanta Braves have called up franchise career saves leader Craig Kimbrel from the minors a day after having their worst blown ninth-inning lead in more than a half-century.

Kimbrel returned to the Braves, the club he spent his first five major-league seasons with, for Friday's game against the Giants.

So far, Kimbrel has been the only one to see game action as a result of the roster moves. Friday night, he went one inning against the San Francisco Giants. He allowed one hit, one walk, and recorded a strikeout. It marked his first appearance for the Braves since 2014.
