Mayor Karen Bass says people involved in causing damage during anti-ICE protests in Los Angeles will be prosecuted.

President Donald Trump on Tuesday did not rule out invoking the Insurrection Act if necessary to squash violence at the Los Angeles protests. “If there’s an insurrection, I would certainly invoke it,” Trump said.

The National Guard has at times detained protesters in its deployment to Los Angeles, an official said Wednesday, as demonstrations against Immigration and Customs enforcement raids spread to other major cities.

Protests over immigration raids have broken out in several other cities, including Chicago, New York, San Antonio and Spokane, Washington.
