I think it is perfectly safe as long as someone is watching your child while you are driving (or visa versa). The pontoon boats handle well; are deliberately under-powered (but …

I think it is perfectly safe as long as someone is watching your child while you are driving (or visa versa). The pontoon boats handle well; are deliberately under-powered (but sufficient); and you must stay within the harbor (cannot go out into Lake Michigan -- waves can easily be too big). If it were me, and I was confident in my boating skills, I'd have no hesitation.
