Modern Two, is currently closed while we get the ground floor ready for our free Ian Hamilton Finlay exhibition, which will open on Saturday 8 March 2025. The grounds and Modern One remain open for you to enjoy. Modern Two is set in a beautiful sculpture park and usually displays exhibitions of modern and contemporary art. It includes a detailed recreation of Eduardo Paolozzi's studio which can be visited by appointment, as well as his 7.3m tall sculpture, Vulcan, that dominates the cafe. Our research facilities are open by appointment. The Prints and Drawings Study Room houses over 35,000 works of graphic art and the Reading Room provides access to over 100,000 library items, 6,000 artists’ and special books and 140+ archival holdings.
